In early March the Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, Miss. canceled its prom after Constance McMillen announced she would take her girlfriend to the event. Since then students upset that prom was canceled have expressed their anger against McMillen, and parents have offered to host a private prom, open only to straight students. The San Diego based Empowering Spirits Foundation, and the Safe Schools Coalition of Mississippi though are promoting an all-inclusive prom, to be held May 8th.

A boat believed to have been used to smuggle illegal immigrants into the United States washed ashore in Torrey Pines early Wednesday, authorities said.
